THE ANSWER TO CENTRISM IS A MORE PERFECT CENTRIST AGENDA
OR WHAT TO DO IN 2007 FOR THE PEOPLE TO WIN IN 2008

Politics is the art of the possible. Some famous person said that once. I heard it from my political science professor. It still rings true even in this convoluted political scene we find ourselves mired in.
Once there were rules and we keep trying to believe they still exist as we go through our highly trained partisan ways of electing our representatives in public office. But centrism doesn’t work like that. It erodes the mandate and the voters interest to corrupt their efforts into the contrived language of bipartisanship. And what you end up with is a One Party of Elitists who get elected and carry on with their own special interest agenda.
What is the greatest shame of this tortured process? If there were a single fact that punctuated the shocking nature of this civic disaster it is that neither party has a true majority and both together add up to less than 50 percent of the total potential voters - about 23 percent of the voting public gets to ‘win” and control the course of public events for 4 to 8 years, most likely an eight year term. That translates to the sad fact that you will likely only get 8 times in your life out of a total of 16 elections you may get a chance to vote for a President assuming there is a party change involved. You may well see your goals and aspirations, values and potential locked up for long periods of time before creative or constructive change really gets to happen. That’s all assuming you began to vote at the earliest age and you got to live to the ripe old age of 80. Many people never vote.
The most significant aspect of centrism is that the core values characteristic of the party and its idealistic mandates get trimmed away for the watered down version usually referred to as “bipartisanship”. And this is the tune that once again in the 2008 election we are expected to dance to. Once again we are to ignore the smell of rotting flesh and treason and burned out and detonated buildings and go on carping “Remember 9-11” like it was a shining example of bipartisan patriotism. We are to allow fear to rule us and select one of the “politically correct non-controversial party approved cardboard candidates”, and we must let centrism deliver us onward to more cleverly crafted mediocrity and disenfranchisement. And we must be very scared and freeze like a rabbit afraid of losing its carrots vs. reaching out to stop an abomination or a transgression towards a fellow citizen or selected victims foreign or domestic. We must learn to deny our humanity, get on with business as usual and stimulate the economy by going shopping to be good windup patriot. This sad surmise seems even more pathetic since centrism will surely be our constitutional demise, leaving us a country none of us will recognize as home anymore. Our country won’t feel like home, it won’t look like home and in fact it won’t be home any more. We must do something definite during the next election cycle to affirm our civic values as apart from our economic interests.
The way I see it, Centrism left to its own mindless devices is going to destroy us. The American psyche just doesn’t know how to think outside the Centrist entrapment. It may sound like a Kung Fu oriental paradox, but perhaps it will take centrism to defeat centrism. The Chinese in the Book of Changes or I Ching say the hardest task is for the People to marshal armies against themselves. When the Centrist deadlock inhibits revolutionary change evolutionary change becomes the next option. Stagnation and more of the same is not a viable or sustainable option.
I suggest Centrism can destroy us or we can use it to recapture our dignity, freedom and core values by not creating a political strategy that tries to think outside of the centrist argument only to doom itself to failure by losing mainstream appeal. The Constitution we have all sworn an oath to uphold. It is at the core of our civic process and is as mainstream in its appeal as it gets. Those of us who comprised the disenchanted intellectuals and idealists in our prospective parties need to realize that we are either losers again or empowered to re-enfranchise ourselves by realizing how we, as those on the outs, are really strategically joined at the hip. We have to repossess the language of centrism to benefit from a powerful strategic alliance.
This Constitutional Mandate can emerge across party lines as the Centrist Reform Crossover Voters Coalition. The language that can unite us is the Constitutional importance of our times as embodied in the most Constitutionally loyal candidates from each party that we can field as a populist mandate in 2008. We can continue to use the internet as our forum instead of Primaries to select our candidates and then run them as Write In Candidates if necessary. . That way we The People can create the Perfect Virtual Party and none of them have to drop out of their Parties or be essentially disloyal to their party values. We can use Centrism to defeat Centrism and force all candidates to start being equally accountable to the People instead riding the coat tails of their parties and the intentions of their privileged elitist handlers.
As a Constitutional Green well aware of the tiny percentage of centrist voters out there that it takes to swing an election from D to R, ping to pong, or Democrat and Republican I also know that the only thing that can reverse this Diagrama of Elitist Control is to unite the Crossover Base that makes or breaks candidates. That is what the big money game is all about. That is why you need money to buy access. It is the total subversion of the will of the People. Debates take place only in the realm of the endowed. Constitutionally grounded populist candidates representing the correct intellectually sound reason of the citizen need not apply. The internet and the creative, new age of blogism and independent media of the spontaneous driven citizen activists can act to bridge this disaster we are currently in and by uniting with their disenchanted counter parts in the opposite party together they can create a New Centrist Dialogue. They can field their own Constitutional Candidates.
I am not going to fool around now - I’m not going to dance up to the next point I’m just going to flat out tell you how I think we can do this.
We need to Unite disenchanted anti-elitist Democrats, Republicans, Greens and Libertarians and focus on the salvation of all of these people by invoking a strong reaffirmation of the Bill of Rights, Constitutionalism, the General Welfare of the People and the soundness of our Treasury, Currency and Market Accountability. We must implement an essential mandate of Reform in America and we must elect a Constitutionally respectful Citizen Congress. We need to realize that there are no Democrats or Republicans or realistic Greens and Libertarians unless they all have their Constitutional Rights protected. It is the Mandate to Save our Great Republican Representative Democracy and the Vehicle for the People to win the next election.
I believe Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich and Barak Obama all need to put their name in a hat. In the hat there are three designations: President, Vice-President and Secretary of State. I hope Ron Paul draws President because he has the age and consistency of a true conservative grounded in Constitutional respectability. That shows consideration towards all of us. Then I would like to see Dennis Kucinch our current genius in the intelligence community also grounded Constitutionally and a perfect balance for a no nonsense Ron Paul, he would be my kind of Vice President. And I can really see Barak Obama as a shining symbol of American equality, and opportunity, diversity and attainment. He earned his status as a lawyer and public servant. I know he would make Condaleeza Rice look like the pretender that she is. If America can ever accept him it may take him making that difference in Foreign Affairs and in the Publics perception of his talents in a natural context. I would envision an new era of stability and integrity in the political process with this Trinity in place. As for the others they are all pretenders - cardboard cutout elitist groupies sucking up to the money and privilege they want more of at our expense.
The worst thing that could happen to the Constitutionalist movement today is that it would be passed by in the 2008 election for more customary pillaging and graft by the bi-partisans. It would then go on to be re-inherited by the the Neo Cons who would use it as a propagandistic tool to return to power after a democratic "bipartisan" victory, ie more of the same elitism in action.
This voters Crossover Coalition would defeat the stagnation we have been suffering at the hands of centrism. It would empower those who have been pushed out of the mainstream of their parties and characterized as unelectable by the financiers that steer our elections into the hands of the controller elitists who manipulate the process and the outcome. People left out by centrism can either do nothing and once again get left out or they can literally Own the Process. Furthermore the Internet can act as an accountability tool to police the outcome of the election by auditing the populist vote with a separate database designed to protect the integrity of the process and the results as they will be reported. Therefore, the next election would be a much more free and accountable process, with candidates held to a reasonable standards of scrutiny and benchmarks of progress towards real public needs and agendas. Just think - all because a bunch of inspired centrists refused to be mediocre!
